2019-2020 Registration Information

If you are new to the district, you will need to provide the items listed below. If you are changing to another campus, or have moved to a new address over the summer, you will only need to provide your new Proof of Residence.

 

Items You Will Need:

In order to comply with state and local mandates, as well as local school board policy, parents or guardians must produce the following documents:

 

Birth Certificate - Must be state-issued certified copy. Hospital birth certificates are not considered legal state certified birth certificates.

If your child was born in Texas, you can obtain a certified copy of your child's birth certificate from teh Comal County Clerk's Office in the County Courthouse Annex Bldg., located at 150 N. Seguin, Suite 101, in Downtown New Braunfels. Parents can also request a copy online at www.texas.gov under the Vital Statistics link.

For information on how to obtain an out-of-state certified copy of your child's birth certificate, call the Clerk's Office at 830-2221-1230 Option 5.

If a birth certificate is not available, the school may also accept a student passport, military ID, adoption records, or legal documentation that establishes a student's identity.

Social Security Card - Must be the child's card.

Immunization Record - Record of all immunizations and/or boosters. Documentation must have the physician's signature or clinic stamp. Month, day and year must be recorded for each shot.

Residency Verification - When you enroll your child, you must provide your Texas Driver's License or Texas ID which lists your current address and at least one of the following documents to prove you live within the New Braunfels ISD:

  • NBU Bill
  • CenterPoint Energy 
  • GVEC bill
  • Lease Agreement (listing all occupants)
  • Mortgage Agreement
  • Notarized letter from you landlord (listing all occupants)

If your family is residing with another NBISD resident, a Residency Form will need to be completed at the campus. Both the parent/guardian, and the NBISD resident will need to make an appointment with the campus secretary. The NBISD resident will need to provide proof of residency and the campus principal must approve all forms.

  • All of the elementary schools and the Lone Star Early Childhood Center will be hosting a Meet-the-Teacher event on Thursday, August 22

  • New Braunfels Middle School & Oak Run Middle School Schedule Pick Up

     

    New Braunfels Middle School & Oak Run Middle School students who have completed registration by August 9, may pick up their schedules on Wednesday, August 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

     

    Oak Run Middle School students who complete their registration after August 9, may pick up their schedules on Friday, August 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

     

    New Braunfels Middle School students who complete their registration after August 9, will receive their schedule on the first day of school.

     

    Oak Run Middle School will hold their Unicorn Camp for 6th graders and their parents on Friday, August 23 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

     

    Freshman Welcome Day

     

    New Braunfels High School 9th Grade Center will host their Freshman Welcome Day on Thursday, August 15. Stop by at any time from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students who have completed their registration will be able to pick up their schedules at that time.

    Unicorn Welcome

    Please join NBHS Student Council for the annual Unicorn Welcome. This event is for incoming sophomores and students new to the district. Tours of the campus will be given and numerous clubs and organization will be there for students to explore.

     

    When: August 22, 2019

     

    Time: 5:30- 7:00

     

    Where: NBHS Commons

     

    * At 7:00 pm please follow us out to the track for the Meet the Unicorn parade and walk the track with your new organization.

  • New Braunfels Independent School District thanks you for taking part in our new process of accepting online athletic participation paperwork. The goals of accepting these forms online and electronically is to conserving resources and allow us to be more efficient in collecting these annually required documents. Any desktop computer, iPad, or smartphone can be used to complete and submit forms.

    Beginning with the 2018-2019 School year, Medical History and ANNUAL Physical Exam WILL BE THE ONLY PAPER FORMS ACCEPTED. 

    All forms, update medical history and ANNUAL physical are required to be on file with the athletic department prior to participation in any practice, scrimmage, or contest before, during or after school. 

    PHYSICALS MUST BE DATED AFTER MAY 1ST TO BE CONSIDERED CURRENT FOR THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL YEAR 

    To avoid common errors, please take note of the following:
     
    • You are NOT required to print the participation packet
    • Paper versions of the packet WILL NOT be accepted.
    • You can elect to receive copies via email after electronically signing/submitting forms.
    • Paper copies of the Medical History and Physical Examination ONLY are available form middle school athletic coordinators and high school athletic trainers.
    • Use your student’s 6-digit NBISD student ID number and DOB to access forms.
    • Signing the document: click inside the signature box and hold your mouse down, this will allow you to create an “Electronic Signature”. If you make a mistake and need to start over, click on the refresh icon next to the signature box. If you are using a touch screen device, you may create an electronic signature, by holding your finger to the screen and signing your name or by using a stylus.
    • Submitting the forms: If every box is filled in, you will be taken to a confirmation page. If you click submit and it stays on the form page, there is a box that has not been filled in. Look back through the form and the missing information will have red indicators by it.

  • The District has a vital interest in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all students.  The use of illegal drugs poses serious health and safety risks to the user and those associated with the user.  The District intends drug testing to serve as a deterrent to the use of illegal drugs and to provide students with a viable reason to resist peer pressure to use illegal drugs. All students in grades 7 through 12 who participate in school-sponsored competitive extracurricular activities shall be required to undergo random drug testing. All students in grades 9 through 12 who receive a permit allowing them to park their vehicles on school property during the school day shall be required to undergo random drug testing.

  • The after-school program is operated by the YMCA of San Antonio and available for all elementary students at select school sites.
